Pilates: a Perfect Regimen for Faster Weight Loss – Foxboro

Joseph Coupal - Friday, May 30, 2014

Pilates is a type of exercise that moves your body in order to optimize blood circulation, improve food digestion, improve the lymphatic system, and burn extra calories; all these factors are pivotal for faster weight loss.

Pilates exercise classes will meet all your fitness needs - build and maintain lean muscles, lose extra pounds, improve focus and flexibility, and realign and promote proper posture. Through Pilates, people become more aware of their bodies which makes them treat it better and make better choices.

Core strength

Pilates targets not only your abdominals but also the entire back because its main focus is about core strength. Pilates flattens abs quickly and builds up a strong back support while you lose weight. This helps prevent injury and reduces lower back pain.

Cardio exercises

Complete your pilates for weight loss regimen with some cardio exercise and you'll see result twice as fast as doing either routine alone. Combining Pilates and cardio workouts is a great physical fitness activity for the muscles in your body, including the heart. This combination brings variations in routine and resistance that challenges muscles in many different ways.

Caloric burn

Pilates has other health benefits along with strength training, mainly burning calories while creating muscle mass throughout your body. The resistance you use during Pilates workouts increases muscle strength and endurance. A gradual upgrade in resistance will lead to leaner muscles. More muscles means more calories burned while Pilates workouts give your metabolism an extra boost.

Pilates classes in Foxboro promise stronger back muscles, a toned body, robust core, improved metabolism, and enriched confidence. For more questions about how you could improve your muscle mass through Pilates, checkout Answer is Fitness.

Weight Loss Foods Foxboro - Stay FIT with what you EAT

Joseph Coupal - Thursday, May 08, 2014

Weight Loss Foods FoxboroThe food we eat are the nutritional powerhouse that keeps our body healthy. But what are really the best foods for weight loss? The list would be long if we wrote it in its entirety! So instead, here are some tips on maximizing your food to stay healthy and maintain that perfect figure:

Right amount, right kind

Choosing the right amount and the right kind of food will go a long way. Doing simple math, you have to eat fewer calories than you can burn. You should also eat less as nighttime approaches.

Break the fast

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day as it ‘breaks the fast’ after a long sleep. Breakfast also jump starts your metabolism. There are a lot of best breakfast foods for weight loss like eggs and omelets which help you trim inches.

Fiber-rich foods

Fiber-rich foods are good for digestion. Oats are healthy and raw fruits have more fiber. So instead of juicing fruits, try chewing them. This way, it signals the brain that you have eaten enough to make you feel full, causing you to eat less.

Feel full, longer

Eating foods that make you feel full longer stops you from eating more. These foods are those that are slow to digest such as beans. Cut back the calories and eat vegetables, they add low-calorie bulk to a tasty dish!

Sweets First

Drinking water 30 minutes before eating your meal can really affect your diet. But often you want to eat something sweet? Try dark chocolate (in small doses) or fruits. This way, you are more full before the main course, and you burn these calories first. Also munching nuts, though not sweet, is proven to make you eat less at meals.

No place for JUNK

Salt and sugar make you eat more. So start saying no to eating junk food including soft drinks. Instead, try eating salad or fruits and vegetables. Replace soda with milk.

Make a weight loss food plan and keep track of what you eat. A balanced diet should be paired with proper exercise. Contact Answer is Fitness for more information.

Why Yoga is the Best Exercise as You Age - Foxboro

Joseph Coupal - Wednesday, April 23, 2014

Why Yoga is the Best Exercise as You Age1. Balance. In yoga class, you'll wind up doing a lot of balancing postures. In the balance poses the trick is to relax into the balance -- a lesson for life and a lesson as you age. Forcing things will not work and you'll likely be so tense that you'll never stand on that one foot. A lot of older Americans have trouble with balance. The more you balance now, the better off you'll be later.

2. Lubricate your joints. This is a term for one of the benefits of yoga. After a yoga class, your joints feel lubricated, and it's true. It's like the tin man must have felt after he got his hit of oil. After spending decades sitting in an office chair old bodies need to move around to loosen up and to oil those joints. Yoga is the next best thing to a squirt of that oil.

3. Strength. Muscle mass declines as you age. It's a proven fact. But rather than go to a gym and lift weights, why not work on many of the muscles in your body. Yoga does just that. Your triceps will get bigger and stronger, not from free weights but from doing chaturangas over and over again. It's the same for all those others muscles. You'll feel the burn in your quads and elsewhere.

4. Peace of mind. Some of this comes with age anyway, but why not put down that damned smartphone for 90 minutes and get on the mat. You'll live much longer.
