Bootcamp for a Cause

Bootcamp for a cause

This hour long workout took place on March 13, 2011 and was a GREAT success!! The bootcamp consisted of high intensity endurance and strength based exercises. The workout was done with teams of two, so while one person was doing 25 push-ups, the other partner was doing burpies until the other person finished (just to give an idea of what it was like)!! Thanks to the eleven people that participated, along with a few other donors that could not make it that day, we raised $290!!!! ALL the proceeds went to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Senior Group Training

Senior Group Training

For three months, every Thursday morning from 8-9am a group of 5 seniors (both male and females) comes in to get their workout on. Always starting with a dynamic warm-up with walking stretches or using a bike, the workouts consist of a combination of strength and endurance exercises and ends with some stretching exercises. Four different routines have been put together that incorporate full body exercises and are done in rotation during those three months. This is done so that those exercises done in the routines become familiar with the clients. This way they are able to bring those exercises to their routines outside of the class with good form. Not only are these clients getting a good workout, but it’s a great way to meet some of the other members, as well as having a trainer there to answer any questions that may arise!
