Looking to mix up your fitness routine with something fun, effective, and beginner-friendly? Step and Tone might be the perfect workout for you! At Answer is Fitness in Foxboro, MA, we offer a variety of group classes designed to help you get stronger, burn fat, and stay motivated—and Step and Tone is one of our members’ favorites.
So, What Exactly Is Step and Tone?
Step and Tone is a dynamic group fitness class that combines cardio step aerobics with toning exercises for a full-body workout. You’ll move to upbeat music, use a step platform to get your heart rate up, and add light weights or bodyweight moves to sculpt and strengthen.
It’s high-energy, low-impact, and totally customizable—whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned gym-goer.
What to Expect in a Step and Tone Class
Each class is typically 45 to 60 minutes and may include:
- Step Aerobics: Choreographed moves on and off the step platform to elevate your heart rate.
- Strength Training: Light dumbbells, resistance bands, or bodyweight exercises (think squats, lunges, bicep curls).
- Core Work: Crunches, planks, and other exercises to strengthen your midsection.
- Cool Down and Stretching: To help improve flexibility and aid recovery.
You’ll burn calories, tone major muscle groups, and leave feeling energized—and maybe a little sweaty.
Who Is Step and Tone Good For?
Almost everyone! Whether you're just getting into fitness or want to add some variety to your weekly routine, Step and Tone is a great option because:
- It’s low-impact on the joints
- You can modify moves to suit your fitness level
- It combines strength + cardio for maximum results
- It’s fun and social, especially in a group setting
