Halloween is fast approaching. No doubt your home will be bombarded with kids and scary outfits, lots of fun mischief and of course, an overload of sugary treats. So before you lose sight of your diet and start gaining weight this fall and make Halloween even scarier than ever, here are a few fitness tips to help you stay on top of your diet and fitness goals:
- Eat Prior to Trick or Treating parties - Fill up with a healthy balanced diet such as whole grains and lean meat before you go to gatherings full of sweets. This way you'll be already stuffed and less likely to sneak sweets from the goody bags.
- Stock up on healthier snacks - Feast on trail mix and cheese and crackers instead of munching on chocolate bars.
- Make trick or treating a workout - Instead of staying in your car waiting for your kids to finish their house to house rounds. Walk around with them to burn some calories. You may improvise and do some extra loops around the block while you check out cool Halloween decorations around the neighborhood.
- Don't deprive yourself - Since Halloween just comes once a year allow yourself to indulge in some sweet treats. As long as you don't skip your workout routine, a time or two of overindulgence is practically OK.
