Dedication to working out requires patience and the ability to delay gratification. Everyone knows this. Many still fall for false promises of fast easy results then get discouraged and quit. Do not make it any slower by quitting.
Quitting guarantees that you will make no progress. And it will be the gradual backslide of your physical wellbeing. However, the slow progress you feel, it is worth it in how you feel physically and mentally. Dedicating your efforts to your fitness goal is a gift to your future self. You only have one body in your lifetime, it does so much for you every single day and you tend to take that for granted. Remind yourself that the only opinion about you that matters is yours. It is all about perspective, the way you choose to view your body will change the way that you feel about your body. Everyday your body is becoming stronger and healthier, reminding yourself of this helps you get rid of any negative thoughts in your mind. It will be helpful to remind yourself that your fitness journey will be about you and you only. Your physique and your progress will differ from others, you must learn to accept that.
Self-criticism stems from your comparison and self-expectations. Your body is uniquely yours and that is what makes it special. Remember to be kind to yourself and your body. Still do your best, still show up and put in all the work and you will be encouraged to do the same because at the end it is all worth it!
