Your body is a machine. And like all machines, it needs the right fuel to run well especially if you are active. It is important to know the right food you will eat to benefit your workout. What you eat and when has a big impact on your energy level and how well you will recover from a workout.
It is highly important to pay attention to focus on the nutrition basics. Just like not getting enough vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that will compromise your health and your performance. Fueling your activity is as easy as following the well-established rules of a healthy diet. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, consume lean proteins, eat healthy fats, get whole-grain carbohydrates and drink plenty of fluids especially water. Next thing to consider is giving your body the energy needed to do the job you want. Even if your fitness goal is to lose weight you need to fuel up your body. Make sure your diet plan supplies enough nutrient-dense calories so you will exercise and stay injury-free and healthy. Because skimping nutrition will reduce muscle mass, lower bone density and cause fatigue. This will put you at risk of injury and illness. Lastly, love carbs because you need them. Carbohydrates will help your body during long and high-intensity exercise. In fact, the more active you are, the more cards you need.
Ultimately protein will provide the amino acids your body needs to build and repair muscle. It is significant to rebuild with protein. Very active people are advised to eat 1.2 to 2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. If you are not active then it is okay to eat less protein. As a general rule, eat one to three hours before your workout, even if you are going to do sustained, high-intensity activity.
