Today, we’d like to share with you a growing trend here at Foxboro’s Anser Is Fitness. Seniors are getting more physically active than ever and we’re celebrating our small role in improving senior fitness. One way we do this is via our Barre fitness programs for seniors. Age is no hindrance to improving quality of life within our senior community. Regular Barre workouts increase bone density which will help prevent conditions like osteoporosis the common disease for seniors.
Because Barre exercise is a low impact exercise, it gives seniors the confidence to live a safe and fulfilling life on their own. It has a built-in handhold, making it a safe form of exercise. Barre is a good way to improve stability and avoid accidents or falls. Mental skills are engaged throughout the Barre class with varying exercises, directions, and purpose. Truly perfect for elders making them more active and alert.
The slow range of motion exercises that Barre is known enormously help seniors who have limited range of movement. There are various designs for the seniors that will allow flexibility for a greater sense of stability. Adding a Barre class to your weekly routine will give you something to look forward to along with a sense of community spirit. Some elders claim that what motivates them to come to Barre class is that they are all looking forward to seeing their friends and catching up while also staying healthy. Wow, the ballet Barre is getting to be the new hangout for elders!
