There is also the downward facing dog which is a gentle inversion that helps to calm the mind and reduce stress. It also strengthens the arms and legs, and improves circulation. And there are many more poses that, if incorporated into your daily routine will help to reduce stress, promote relaxation, and improve overall well being.
Be patient with your practice and your body. Your body stores and holds so much stress and tension that mindful movement will be used as a powerful tool to release it. Emotions are literally ‘energy in motion’ and it needs to be felt in order to move through you.
