Spinning will change your life. It will constantly inspire you to keep learning and face the challenges in everyday life. It will also give you so much confidence. It is a fun and safe workout because you avoid playing car dodgeball while riding side-by-side with likeminded fitness enthusiasts. Every time you hop on the saddle you will find your perfect ride based on your mood, goals, favorite instructor, or amount of time in your schedule. It is a gradual, purposeful progression of rides that will introduce the basics and coach you to set your fitness goals.
Indoor Spinning is no doubt my favorite cardio workout. It will require resistance training, toning and core work to complement your time in the saddle. It is so beneficial for core training as it extends to your ride and strengthens and stabilizes your core muscles. Since spinning is an athletic blend of strength of resistance, speed, and stamina. There are classes that combine all three elements, however most focus on one or two. The strength rides are geared toward building leg power by climbing hills in and out of the saddle. It has moderate to heavy resistance and lower speed ranges. Speed classes will build your pedal turnover ability with light to moderate resistance levels and higher speed ranges. The stamina rides will build endurance with longer steady state for periods of time. This is your chance to try stepping or pedaling outside your comfort zone now and then. Choose the type of ride that is not necessarily your favorite to keep your training balanced and avoid those fitness plateaus.
Leaving your comfort zone is the desire to change. Do not restrict yourself to the activity where you are comfortable. Instead recognize what your comfort zone is and ask yourself if staying there will help achieve your fitness goals down the line. If the answer is no, open yourself up to change.
