It is a nice combination of mobility, strength, and balance. These yoga exercises will improve your mobility, strengthen your core, and especially train your balance. Always focus on the mindful connection between movement and breathing.
The biggest secret for a strength-based yoga practice is to train for it. Strength and conditioning will do your mind, body, soul, and handstand good. Keep it simple but high intensity as always. Every set is essentially a burnout set, meaning it will go till failure. Failure is the goal, learn to love to fail and you will see growth. Plank pose and hollow body movements using your own body weight or adding weight to your body weight and the props are one of the best things you will do to train your body to get stronger. As the body gets stronger, the mind does too. It is important to be strong enough for the skill or to even practice it multiple times. There are other ways to train for it than just beating your head against the wall hoping to get luck in your handstand. Learning to do the simple things right and clean will carry you way further than you imagine. Learning other skills related will translate over to the physical, to the technical, to the mental.
Everything will be modified of course. As much as you want to do complex and really cool skills in movement, there are a lot to do the basics and foundation movement to help you achieve your greater goals. It reinforces good technique, efficient breathing patterns and the obvious strength and stamina aspect. Always remember, good things take time and consistency.
