Setting New Year Fitness Goals
1 January 2019
It's a new year once again! It's a great time to make a fresh start. So if you have been neglecting exercise now is the perfect time to implement your fitness resolutions.
When setting a fitness goal, it is important to set realistic expectations and a reasonable time frame. Despite the fact that many consider mileage and time splits as a measure of fitness, it is more effective for beginners to ease into exercise to avoid injury and pain. These types of exercises may include indoor cycling, zumba, Pilates and yoga. Increase your activity gradually, in increments of 10% more at a time. This means you have to acknowledge your body limitations as well. Remember that you will not always gain from pain. Often it can be better and more productive to seek the help of a personal trainer to guide you in your fitness journey and lessen the risk of injury.
There can be a lot of factors that can affect your fitness success. But don't let exercise or the gym intimidate you. Understanding that there is a learning curve, choosing a personal trainer, and setting realistic and attainable fitness goals will help you stick to your New Year's Resolutions.
