Almost everyone wants to lose weight and everyone has great ideas on how to do it. But there is a lot of conversation out there about which is best, cardio training or strength training?.
While it is very important to increase muscle mass in order to lose weight, there is no difference in overall fitness if you do strength training or cardio first when working out.
But, it is a good idea to alternate strength training days with cardio training days.
How you alternate the exercise routines and the days depends on your preference. A good cardio workout may affect your leg muscle strength so maybe you want to do arm muscle exercises instead. Additionally, a hard lower body strength training session could effect your cardio workout the next day. But, the end result over time will still be the same if you focus on cardio and strength and alternate the types of workouts.
Keep in mind that sufficient rest and the right types of foods are also needed between sessions to ensure that you meet your fitness goals. Personal training may be a good idea if you are new to exercise or if you have been exercising regularly but are not seeing results any longer.
